Internship Opportunity involving: Events / Operations / Social Media
September ’20 – February ’21
Application deadline: Wednesday June 30th 23:59
Food business incubator Kitchen Republic is looking for an intern that can help us with our events operations and social media. Are you a foodie and like to hang around in a big kitchen everyday? Do you want to learn a lot about the food industry and Dutch food landscape? And also important, do you like to increase your organization and communication skills? Then apply to be our next intern today!
Kitchen Republic is a home for food start-ups. We help food entrepreneurs start and grow their business. We help our members (as we call the food and drink businesses that are connected to us) by offering kitchen space and connection to a big network in the food industry. With a team of five we do everything we can to help our members challenge the current food system. Quite a big mission… so we would love some help!
A day in the life of a Kitchen Republic intern
Your day begins in our start-up kitchen with a cup of good coffee. While you are downstairs in the kitchen making some foodie content for our social media channels, one of our members slips you a piece of banana bread. Oh yes! Quin, the online marketing manager, has provided a nice content briefing but she loves your creative input too!
Later that morning it’s a great time to tidy up our events and operation administration together with Emilie, our event manager. You’ll also go through the details of todays event, a workshop for our members that is hosted in our scale-up kitchen just around the corner.
Before we dive into the organization of our event, you have a meeting with our co-founder Emma for a KR Community update. Afterwards, it’s time to get our event going! You are the host and responsible for everything going as smoothly as possible. You set up the event space, check your call sheet if everything is in place, welcome the guest speaker and our members with a drink and afterwards we clean as a team!
As you can see, you will be working alongside the team with all the activities that Kitchen Republic organizes. There is room to work on a research project one day per week.
In short, this is what your duties will be:
Support in event management for our KR Community and KR Academy
Content support (photo/video)
Help grow social media content/channels
Scout of new cool food businesses
New business support
Some qualities we admire:
Creative communication skills
Good sense of hospitality
Knowledge of social media
Enthusiasm and humor
A team player who can also work independently
Fluent in Dutch
Skilled in English (speaking & writing)
Knowledge about the Dutch food landscape would be awesome but is definitely not mandatory as we would love to teach you all about it! During this internship you will learn a great deal about the food industry and will meet loads of connections that can help you further in your career. You will be a part of a young team where there is room for your own ideas and projects.
You would like to apply? Nice!
Please send your motivation (written OR in a video) and CV to Emilie via email@example.com. We will get back to you within 7 working days. Hope to meet you soon in our kitchen!
