SUMMARY:Meet the Buyer x De Bijenkorf
DESCRIPTION:Our Meet the Buyer sessions are designed to connect passionate food entrepreneurs with potential customers\, buyers\, and/or category managers. Monthly\, we invite buyers from all different categories of the food scene\, like supermarkets\, online retailers\, hotel chains\, wholesale\, restaurant owners\, etc. These sessions offer exclusive sales opportunities\, feedback\, and/or professional connections that you won’t get anywhere else. In this session\, we welcome De Bijenkorf! About De BijenkorfDe Bijenkorf is the most inspiring\, creative\, and sustainable department store\, where everyone can feel special. The Kitchen is their restaurant where different types of cuisines come together. Various cooking stations prepare dishes à la minute. The Kitchen can be found in their stores in Amsterdam\, The Hague\, Eindhoven\, Rotterdam\, and Utrecht. They work with different counters\, examples include: fish\, wok\, grill\, Italian\, sandwiches\, juices\, salads\, savory and sweet pastry. \nRequirements De Bijenkorf– Their first-choice supplier is Sligro\, and they strongly prefer to source through them. Sometimes they can make an exception.– Assortment additions that require minimal preparation in their kitchen\, a good example is the Scandinavian buns from LÄCKER.– New drinks are always of interest.– De Bijenkorf notices that their guests do not show a particular preference for plant-based options.– They like the idea of giving ‘young’ local entrepreneurs a platform at De Bijenkorf Amsterdam — for example\, by making a counter available to them. \nWho will you meet during this session?Cindy Mulders – Operational Project Manager Food & RestaurantsTanja Witteveen – Head of retail store operations\, F&BKR’s requirements:– Be a member of the KR Community– Arrive on time\, assets prepared (tasting materials/presentation documents prepped) and ready to pitch– As space is limited and time precious\, please understand that KR and the guest buyer will select the most relevant food companies to see during each session as it relates to the buyer/companies focus.– You can also leave your product(s) behind for the buyer\, Kitchen Republic will collect your feedback. \n\n\n\nHow does it work?– We offer time slots of 10 minutes per company. This might sound short\, but it’s definitely long enough to make a lasting impression. – Application for this MTB session closes on September 10. If selected\, we will contact you the week prior with time slot details.

SUMMARY:Meet the Buyer x The Maker Store
DESCRIPTION:Our Meet the Buyer sessions are designed to connect passionate food entrepreneurs with possible customers\, buyers\, and/or category managers. Monthly\, we invite buyers from all different categories of the food scene\, like; supermarkets\, online retailers\, hotel chains\, wholesalers\, restaurant owners\, etc. These sessions offer exclusive sales opportunities\, feedback\, and/or professional connections\, you won’t get anywhere else. In this session\, we welcome The Maker Store at KR!About The Maker StoreThe Maker Store is a unique store in De Hallen in Amsterdam West where only products from local brands are sold. You can go there for clothing\, jewellery\, interior design\, and of course food and drinks from more than 80 different Amsterdam makers. Their audience consists of a good mix of tourists and locals\, who are often looking for an original and high-quality souvenir or gift. In addition\, there are also plenty of customers who can find something beautiful or tasty for themselves here! \n\n\n\n\n\nRequirements The Maker Store– It must be an Amsterdam brand. However\, the production does not have to take place (completely) in Amsterdam\, but they would like to see a demonstrable connection with the city from the maker or the product.– The store is not specifically intended for food\, so they don’t have a large refrigerator or freezer. But they are open to borrowing a fridge/freezer from the maker in order to be able to show their products.– For the same reason\, they prefer not to use products that have a very limited shelf life.– In general\, The Maker Store doesn’t buy\, but works on a consignment basis.Who will you meet during this session?Siem Meijerink – Owner The Maker StoreFloor Wintgens – Floor Manager The Maker Store  \nKR’s requirements:– Be a member of the KR Community– Arrive on time\, assets prepared (tasting materials/presentation documents prepped) and ready to pitch– As space is limited and time precious\, please understand that KR and the guest buyer will select the most relevant food companies to see during each session as it relates to the buyer’s/company’s focus.– You can also leave your product(s) behind for the buyer\, KR will collect your feedback. How does it work?– We offer time slots of 10 minutes per company. This might sound short\, but it’s definitely long enough to make a lasting impression. – Applications for this MTB session will close on September 7. SUMMARY:Expert session: How to do PR
DESCRIPTION:Our Roundtable concept is about meeting up with a small group of members who are willing to share their experience and knowledge about a certain topic. We create themes around popular challenges and shared difficulties. When all participants balance giving and taking of information\, we believe that a Roundtable discussion can be a very valuable experience for every participant. \nWe all know what Public Relations or PR is\, many of us know how to do PR\, but only a few know how to do brilliant PR. Of course\, your brand story is the base of your business – the secret to good PR is then knowing which parts of your brand story to choose and also being able to share them in the right way\, with the right audience and at the right time.  \nThe following expert will share his knowledge in this session:Niels Paauw – With his agency Pow Comms\, Niels offers “PR\, copy and creative support for nice brands”. Tony’s Chocolonely\, Johnny Cashew\, Gulpener\, and many more sustainable food brands trust in his work and creativity. While preparing for this session\, Niels told us that not even once he had to do any active Sales – just one of the many reasons to listen to his expertise. Our members Chillichans\, Mamaschai and Suboro have also worked with him in the past.  \nSome words from Eyan’s side about their collaboration: “Working with Neils was a game-changer\, he helped us successfully launch our noodles\, landing us in major Dutch magazines and sparking a wave of social media buzz through more than a hundred relevant posts.” \nIn this Roundtable session we will cover the following topics\, among others:– Uncomplicating PR – how does it work?– How do I use storytelling as part of my PR strategy?– (How) can PR be successful with a limited budget?– How do I successfully build a network within the media industry?– What’s the right way to approach journalists?– What are the dos and don’ts of PR? \nAgenda17.30-18.15 – Walk-in & easy dinner 18.15-20.15 – Niels talks about his take on PR\, including Q&A20.15-21.15 – Drinks & networking  \nRegistration for this event ends on September 10. You can submit your questions/topics of interest upfront when signing up. We’re looking forward to an interesting discussion!

SUMMARY:Meet the Community: Pitch & Pizza Night
DESCRIPTION:We want to use this session to brush up on our presentation skills. Whether you’re preparing to present at a “Meet the Buyer” session\, want to improve your storytelling in general or want to share your biggest learnings (and failures) from previous pitches – this is the right place to do it! Let’s use this session to work on your perfect 2-minute sales pitch. Just like our “Meet the Buyer” sessions – only that you’ll be pitching to your fellow community members instead. How does it work?We offer time slots of 15 minutes per member company. This will include feedback from the audience\, so we recommend preparing a pitch that is not longer than 2 minutes. This is a great opportunity to practice pitching within the safe space of our community (no external attendees) & learn from each other. We hope to see you there! Agenda:17.30 – 17.45 Walk-in & Welcome17.45 – 20.00 Pitch time20.00 – 21.00 Wrap-up & Pizza PartyPlease RSVP before April 13. You can apply for a maximum of 2 people per member business. After your application we will get in touch with you with a detailed timeline for the evening. Please note that if there are more participants than 12 who want to pitch\, we will repeat the session on a new date (details will follow).
