SUMMARY:Meet the Expert Day: 1-on-1 sessions
DESCRIPTION:A full day of focused\, 1-on-1 conversations between KR members and hand-picked experts. Just you\, an expert\, and 20-30 minutes to dig into the questions that matter most for your business right now. Whether you’re figuring out how to protect your brand\, get your labels right\, or take the next financial step\, this is your chance to get the right answers. \nThe schedule:12:00 – 13:00 Networking lunch13:00 – 17:00 1-on-1 sessions 17:00 – 18:00 Drinks & networking \nWe’re covering multiple topics that every food startup runs into sooner or later.  \nBrand Protection with Kilburn & StrodeYour brand is your company’s most valuable asset. It is much more than just a design or a logo. But did you know that without a valid trademark registration you can’t claim a right to your brand name or logo? That makes solid brand protection in the countries where you produce and/or sell your products essential. On the other hand\, brand protection in an area that is too wide leads to unnecessary risks and may even result in you losing your rights. You’ll meet Marit Blom\, Trademark Attorney at Kilburn & Strode.   \n\n\n\n\n\nExample questions:– What do I need to consider when choosing my brand name and logo?– Is my brand safe once I get a trademark registration?– How does it work if I want to export to other countries? \n*** \nLoans via QreditsGrowth takes money. Qredits supports small businesses with accessible loans and coaching. Qredits is a business partner for starting and experienced entrepreneurs in small and medium-sized businesses. They are a credit provider\, but also a coach and trainer: Their team of experts stands by you\, thinks along with you and offers opportunities. Discuss your funding needs and find out what’s possible for your stage of business. You’ll meet Niels Hooiveld\, Niels Hooiveld\, Business Advisor at Qredits\, since 2017. \nExample questions:– I need €15k to buy equipment; where do I start?– I’ve never applied for a loan before\, what do I need to prepare? \n*** \nBranding with Now New NextYour packaging is often the first\, and sometimes only\, moment you have to connect with a customer. Ariane van Mancius from Now New Next joins us to take an honest look at your branding and packaging. Now New Next is a branding and design studio that helps food brands show up with clarity and intention. Ariane joins us to take an honest look at your branding and packaging. Does it attract the right audience? Does it reflect what you want to stand for? And could it be more sustainable?  \nExample questions:– Does my packaging appeal to the right target group?– How can I make my packaging more sustainable? \n*** \nRetail Insights with Laura van der VeldenGetting your product onto a retailer’s shelf is one thing\, staying there is another. Laura van der Velden is a category strategist with over ten years of experience in retail\, gained at the buyer’s side of Albert Heijn and Jumbo. Now she helps better-for-you food brands make that same step but from the other side of the table. She advises at the moments that matter most: from your first retail conversations to building a solid position on the shelf. Think translating your brand story into retail arguments\, shelf logic\, and price positioning. Get her take on shelf positioning\, pricing\, and what a buyer really looks at before saying yes. \nExample questions:– Is my price positioning right for the retail channel I’m targeting?– What do I need to have ready before my first meeting with a retailer? \n*** \nHow it works When you sign up\, you’ll indicate which expert sessions interest you and submit a concrete question in advance. This helps us make the most of every slot and ensures the expert is prepared for your specific situation. \nBased on all registrations\, we’ll build a personalised schedule for you. Please note: spots are limited and we can’t guarantee a place with every expert\, but we’ll do our best to put together a day that’s genuinely useful for everyone. \nSign up via the registration form below. You’ll receive your personal planning ahead of the event. \nRegistration for this session closes on May 5. Please submit the specific questions/topics you’re interested in when registering for the session.

SUMMARY:Expert session: How to manage your finances
DESCRIPTION:Running an F&B business means more than making a great product; it means knowing your numbers. In this hands-on session\, Enver and Antonie break down the financial fundamentals every founder needs to build a profitable business. The expertsFor this session we welcome Enver and Antonie from Changemakers\, a firm that helps impact-driven organisations grow and thrive through financial management\, strategic business development\, and coaching. \nEnver Loke: Founder Changemakers and co-founder Chocolatemakers\, a Dutch bean-to-bar chocolate producer. Building the company from scratch\, he knows firsthand what it takes to make a food business financially sustainable; from calculating the true cost of a product to finding margins that actually work. \nAntonie Louter: CFO at Changemakers\, Antonie is the numbers man. He helps impact-driven organisations get their financial house in order. He has worked hands-on with F&B brands including community members LÄCKER and Kari’s Crackers. \nAbout the sessionWe start with the basics: what does it actually cost to make your product? From packaging and ingredients to equipment\, staff\, and cleaning. We’ll walk through how to calculate your true cost price\, the difference between direct and indirect costs\, and how to determine the gross margin you need to survive and grow. \nAntonie and Enver will work through the real financial challenges of two community members; a startup and a scale-up. It’s about figuring out what you need to make money\, not what the competition’s margins look like. The session closes with time to apply the framework to your own situation. \nWho is this for?F&B founders at any stage; whether you’re just starting out or already scaling. This session is for you if you recognise any of these situations:– You’re just starting out and need to figure out how to price your products.– Your costs have turned out to be much higher than expected.– A retailer or distributor wants to come on board but asks for volumes or discounts that put pressure on your margins.– You’re growing fast\, but earning less. Revenue is going up\, but profit stays behind or disappears altogether. \nThe agenda9:30 – 10:00    Walk-in 10:00 – 13:00  Expert session: How to manage your finances13:00 – 13:45   Networking lunch  \nRegistration for this event ends on June 9. You can submit your questions/topics of interest upfront when signing up. We’re looking forward to an interesting session!  \nIf you’re unable to attend\, please let us know at least 12 hours in advance.
