SUMMARY:Workshop: Food Safety & Certifications
DESCRIPTION:Starting a food business in the Netherlands comes with certain laws and regulations regarding hygiene and food safety\, and supplying big retailers requires specific certifications of your production facility. With this workshop we want to provide you with insights into the basics of food safety and introduce the current topics and backgrounds of food safety systems. The experts from Normec will join us for an interactive session. You will be able to ask questions such as:– How do I set up the hygiene and quality system in my business?– How do I prevent food safety risks in my production?– One of my suppliers notices a safety risk – how do I make a recall?– Which certificates do I need in order to be able to sell my products to consumers?– How does the certification process work?  \nAbout the expertsNormec is a company with over 5000 employees active in the TICC sector (testing\, inspection\, certification\, compliance).In the food sector they help companies with microbiological and chemical research on their products\, taste research\, and help consultants with various issues and preparations for audits on food safety systems such as BRC\, IFS and FSSC22000.Who will you meet in this session?Sjoerd Remmers – Operational Manager at NormecDanny Kracht – Commercial Manager at NormecTraining of personnel is mandatory according to above mentioned standards. As Operational Manager of the training department\, Sjoerd Remmers visits companies every day with a team of approximately 10 employees to provide knowledge and skills about food-safe handling of food products. The method used is HACCP.
