Retrospective: The 2019 Food Startup Market and Academy Final Pitches

Pfieuw! How quickly time goes by! Almost month has already passed since we hosted our Food Startup Market.

We've been incredibly busy at Kitchen Republic with the launch of our crowdfunding campaign (more on this later!). This was our third year hosting this market. This year we really took the Food Startup Market to the next level by combining it with the "Final Pitches" of our very first Startup Academy.

The three-month Academy program concluded at the Food Startup Market with a pitch to an impressive audience of influencers and market leaders from the Dutch food industry, including our partners, Marqt, Rabobank Amsterdam and Food Inspiration. Maaike de Reuver of Food Inspiration moderated the event.

We are super proud of the achievements and growth of all our 12 participants, and we are already looking forward to their future growth.

After the pitch session, the music turned on, the bar opened and more than 400 visitors were welcomed to the kitchen, including a great mix of buyers, marketers, journalists, suppliers, wholesalers, food-lovers and, of course, friends and family.

The 40 members of Kitchen Republic presented themselves in the form of a market, with all kinds of tastings and presentations of the different products made in our kitchen. We also officially launched our crowdfunding campaign through CrowdAboutNow, with the goal of expanding our kitchen in a second location so that we can continue to develop our food startup community!!!

The purpose of this event, is to create more business opportunities for all Kitchen Republic's affiliated food startups. And we can say that it really succeeded! Next January, we will definitely organize another Food Startup Market.

PS: A special thanks to Levens Cooking and Baking Systems for sponsoring the Food Startup Market.
